The coordinators for Tokyo’s 2020 Olympic Games mentioned Wednesday that they intend to modify start-off times with regard to the marathon & competition walks to break of day, in order to reduce the impact of urban area’s extreme temperature and humidity.

The news comes after dangerous summertime heat wave that hit Okazaki Japan, triggered an appeal by Japan’s Health care Organization back in Oct. expressing “serious concerns” regarding the dangers to professional athletes and onlookers.

John Coates, leader of the Control Commission for the Sports, stated that an Olympic professional clinic and the scientific council has advised that the marathon now startsĀ at 5:30 and no later then 6 a.m., even though an ultimate or final decision still requires to be verified through the International Organization of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

Early morning rugby games are going to now start off at 9 a.m., 90 mins sooner than initially intended, while mountain cycling activities have already been moved an hr later to start at 3 p.m. in an attempt to miss the dangerous temperatures, Yoshiro Mori, head of Tokyo 2020, made the announcement at a press conference.
